1st Career Day Interview Held in the Department of Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots

Within our faculty, students of the Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots Department hosted an important guest at the 1st Career Day Talk organized as part of the Career Planning course. Dr. Ziya Altaş from Konya Gıda ve Tarım Üniversitesi participated as a guest in the event.

In the talk, Dr. Ziya Altaş shared his knowledge and experiences regarding the career planning process with the students. In his speech; he made evaluations about the importance of setting goals, personal development, enhancing professional competencies, current developments in the field of agricultural technologies, the qualifications needed by the sector, the experiences he gained on his career journey, his work experiences, and the studies he conducted. He also talked about his future goals and offered guiding advice to the students.

The program continued with a question-and-answer session where students posed their questions. The talk, which took place in a mutually interactive manner, was completed as a productive and beneficial event for the students.

A Demo Lesson was Conducted with an Augmented Reality-Based "Virtual Laboratory" in the Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots Department.

In the Department of Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots, an Augmented Reality (AR) based demo lesson was conducted for the field of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies. With the Virtual Laboratory application developed by one of the department's faculty members, Dr. Lecturer Tahsin UYGUN, students had the opportunity to experience AR-supported content practically.

 

Within the scope of the application developed based on HTML and Java; the three-dimensional visualization of educational content, interactive learning approach, and application-focused presentation examples were addressed. The demo lesson was conducted as an exemplary application for the integration of digital education technologies into department courses.

Antalya Commodity Exchange 7th Professional Committee members held a meeting with Akdeniz University and Western Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute (BATEM) members

With the participation of our faculty members from the Department of Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots, a virtual technical meeting was held with the members of the Antalya Commodity Exchange 7th Professional Committee, Akdeniz University, and the Western Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute (BATEM). In the meeting, innovative approaches to make the fight against weeds in thyme more effective and sustainable in the field were discussed. Within the scope of the meeting, the possibilities of developing a smart mechanical weed control machine that can perform weed control in thyme production areas without the need for chemical herbicide use, working with deep learning-based image processing technology and can be integrated into the tractor three-point hitch system, were discussed.
